Our Mission
Our mission is to support, empower, and uplift the local community of Rulenge-Ngara Diocese on their mission of innovative agroforestry practices at Maleba Farm, which promotes sustainable environmental stewardship, improve livelihoods, and enhances food security. Their agroforestry initiatives contribute to the long-term well being of both their local community and our planet.


Geographic Location of the Diocese
The Catholic Diocese of Rulenge-Ngara is in East Africa, located in the Kagera Region, in the North-Western part of Tanzania. The Diocese is a part of the former Rulenge Diocese which was split into two Dioceses on August 14th 2008, combining the Rulenge and Kayanga Diocese in Karagwe District. It covers the areas of Ngara, Biharamulo and Chato. These areas make subsequent ecclesiastical deaneries, with a total area of 13,004 sq kms. The Rulenge -Ngara Diocese borders with the countries of Rwanda and Burundi in the West. It is adjoined with the Karagwe District which forms the Kayanga Diocese on the North East and the shore of Lake Victoria, and parts of Geita District to the East and South East that forms the Geita Diocese. The Diocesan headquarters including the Bishop’s House and Cathedral are situated in Ngara Township, which is along the road to Bujumbura (Burundi).
